How to Get to Graz
By Plane
Graz is conveniently accessible by plane. Graz Airport (GRZ) offers regular flights and good connections via major German cities such as Frankfurt and Munich, or via Vienna, the capital city of Austria. If you prefer to fly directly without a connecting stop, you can fly to Vienna International Airport (VIE) and then rent a car for the approximately two-hour drive to Graz (about 200 km). Alternatively, there is also a convenient train connection from Vienna Airport to Graz.
Graz Airport is located approximately 10 kilometers from the city center, and the journey by taxi typically takes conveniently only around 20 minutes.
By Train
Graz is well connected to the international rail network and can be reached comfortably. Graz Central Station (Graz Hauptbahnhof) is one of Austria’s most important railway hubs, serving around 30,000 passengers per day. There are frequent and direct train services from Vienna, with a journey time of approximately two and a half hours. The main train station in Graz is located close to the city center and is well connected by local public transport within the city center.
